I have had a thought for a long time about bringing together some of the amazing minds in the cloud computing space into a forum where we can share our thoughts and start conversations about how to and why to do cloud computing. I've seen a tremendous number companies shy away from cloud programming. Most of the time its because they have seen someone else do it wrong. They worry about security, control, cost and much more.
When I met with the folks from the .cloud domain registrar, they asked me what I'd do with a .cloud domain extension if I had one. With no hesitation I brought up this suggestion and they liked it so here we are. It's the perfect extension and the perfect URL for the conversations that I want to have.
Here we're going to blog about anything related to cloud development including but not limited to:
- The business reasons for cloud computing
- Platform as a Service
- Software as a Service
- Backend as a Service
- Specific cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS and Google Cloud
- Security in cloud computing
- Architecture for scaling
- Data concerns when looking at cloud computing (business and technical)
- and a whole lot more
I'm really looking forward to you joining in the conversation here.
If you want your own .cloud domain name, they go on sale on Feb 16, 2016.
